Linen is made from the long bast fibers found inside the stalk of the flax plant. These fibers are composed primarily of cellulose, a natural material that readily attracts and absorbs moisture.
Each flax fiber contains a narrow central channel called a lumen. The lumen, the fiber’s cellulose-rich walls, and the microscopic spaces between the yarns help transport moisture through capillary action. This draws moisture away from the skin and allows it to evaporate more easily.
Linen is highly breathable and absorbent. It releases moisture relatively quickly, helping the fabric feel cool and comfortable against the skin. Its ability to manage heat and moisture can also reduce the prolonged dampness that contributes to odor.

Merino wool comes from Merino sheep, which have adapted over thousands of years to thrive in extreme and rapidly changing temperatures.
The fiber is made primarily of keratin, the same resilient protein found in human hair and skin. Its overlapping outer scales naturally repel liquid water, while its inner structure absorbs and releases moisture vapor.
Merino wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp. This helps pull perspiration away from the skin and keeps the body feeling dry and comfortable.
The fiber’s natural crimp creates thousands of tiny air pockets that provide insulation and support effective thermoregulation. This helps the body stay warm when it is cold and cool when it is hot.
Merino wool is also naturally odor-resistant and antimicrobial, helping limit the growth of odor-causing microbes. This allows it to remain fresher for longer between washes.
